Welcome to the 'Render Studio For Poser 6 Tutorial'.
In this tutorial you
will be taken through the functions of 'Light Manager' and 'Advanced AO
Editor' in Render Studio as it is used in Poser 6.
It is important to
note that you CAN NOT use the main Render Studio single lights in
combination In Poser 6 without using 'Light manager'. This is due to
Poser 6's inability to load light sets on top of pre-existing light
sets in a scene.
Please Read the Poser
7 tutorial and PDF documents that come with Render Studio to learn
about all the other funtions in this package.
This is an overview of
most of the lights included in Render Studio. The lights that are not
included in the image are the three specular lights the 'Diffuse IBL'
light and the 'Edge Light'.

Fill Light - Used to lighten shadows from other lights like the key lights and side lights.
Key Lights - Used to create modeling and bring out detail.
Hair Lights - Used to add highlights to hair.
Side Lights - Severe side lighting. Only one half of model is lit and the other half is in shadow.
Overhead Light - Light from above. Use to create lit areas on the floor of your scene or across the top of your figure.
Background Lights - Used to light the background Paper Roll.
Rim Lights - Creates a rim of right around the edge of the model.
Edge Light - Creates an 'adjustable' edge of light around the figure.
Soft Spots - A soft edge spotlight. Good for adding light to small areas.
Floor Lights - Used to create moody lighting from below.
IBL - For loading 'Image Based Lighting' setups.
Soft Box - Four spotlights parented to the controller spotlight with low intesity. Only the controller casts shadow.
Overhead Point Light. Use as diffuse studio 'room' light. Most photographic studios are not totally dark.
Projector Light. Used to project images and patterns onto the entire scene.
Specular Lights - Creates specularity in the eyes, lips etc where specularity nodes are added to the figure.
This setup includes
only four lights. Fill, Key R, Hair Center and Specular R. The specular
light is not shown in the setup image becase they are 'Diffuse' lights.
The key light creates the modeling on the figure. By modeling we mean shadow and depth.
The fill light is used at a low intensity to soften the shadow areas bringing out detail without losing the shadow modeling.
The specular light is used to give a reflected highlight in the eyes
and highlight any other area of the figure that will have a highlight
or specular node attached. Specular lights do not cast a light although
they do show light in the document window preview. Add the specular
light as the last light to counter act this.
This is the basic renderd image.
This is the same setup with the fill, Hair and Specular light set to zero.
